Cernunnos, Keeper of the Sacred Grove
One-of-a-kind book pendant · Brass · Green patina · Forest agate · Moonstone
There are places deep within the forest where ancient roots guard forgotten secrets, where the boundary between the seen and the unseen grows thin, and where the presence of the Old Gods seems to linger beneath the silence of the trees.
Cernunnos — Keeper of the Sacred Grove is a unique miniature book pendant inspired by the ancient Celtic god of the wild, the antlered guardian associated with nature, animals, fertility, and the eternal cycles of life.
Handcrafted in brass and finished with a deep green patina, this miniature book evokes an ancient artefact reclaimed by moss and time. Its intricate cover depicts the antlered figure of Cernunnos surrounded by organic forms, recalling the untamed beauty of the woodland and the sacred bond between all living things.
The piece continues along a carefully composed necklace, where every element contributes to its woodland character. Faceted beads of deep forest-green agate bring the richness of shadowed foliage, while moonstone beads introduce a softer, ethereal presence, reminiscent of pale moonlight filtering through the canopy.
Brass beads and decorative elements complement the aged finish of the pendant, creating a harmonious combination of earthy textures, natural stones, and antique metal.
Two symbolic details lend the necklace an additional layer of meaning: the Celtic triskele, an ancient motif associated with movement, cycles, and interconnectedness, and other ancient woodland-inspired symbols that evoke the mysteries of the forest and its forgotten paths.
Together, these elements form a wearable tribute to the wild — a meeting of stone, metal, moonlight, and the enduring spirit of the natural world.
The miniature book can be worn close to the heart, like a small relic carried from a sacred grove. It is not a book of written words, but a symbol of connection to the earth, the untamed, and the mysteries that remain beyond our understanding.
Created as a one-of-a-kind work of wearable art, this piece has its own textures, irregularities, and character. The green patina gives the brass an aged appearance, as though the object had spent years resting beneath the ancient trees.
A guardian of the ancient woods. A fragment of the wild. A sacred grove to carry with you.
